Stage 3 Motorsports 2015 F150 5.0L "Desert Runner" Project Truck

Being based in Arizona means that we've got no shortage of desert and wilderness to explore. We figured it was about time we put together a project truck with the soul purpose of conquering any terrain at high speed with minimal effort. The platform we chose for this build was a bone stock 2015 F150 5.0L V8 with the Lariat trim package and 4 wheel drive. With the addition of a BDS Lift, Fox Coilovers, Whipple Supercharger, Mickey Thompson Tires and plenty of other awesome mods we were able to take an average F150 and transform it into an off road rocket. We threw on an aFe cold air intake, BBK throttle body, Magnaflow cat-back kit, and 5 Star custom tuning improve our 2015 F150's power and responsiveness. While the bolt-ons did a great job giving our truck some extra pep without breaking the bank, we were still thirsty for even more power. The next step was to throw on a Whipple Supercharger to get our F150's 5.0L cranking out insane levels of horsepower and torque. MORE INFO ON OUR ENGINE & EXHAUST UPGRADES

To make sure our F150 would be ready inside and out for whatever adventure we might find, we tossed in a couple simple interior upgrades. We installed a set of paracord grab handles for our backseat passengers to hold on to when things get a little bumpy. To protect our carpet from all the dirt and mud on the trails we also put down some Husky WeatherBeater Floor Mats. MORE INFO ON OUR INTERIOR UPGRADES

While we typically tend to get a bit excessive with lighting on our trucks, this F150 project has only a few upgrades in the lighting department. Even though we didn't opt for quantity, we certainly did not cut corners on quality. This truck got outfitted with a 40" Rigid LED Light Bar, Rigid Dually D2's, Raptor Style Grille Lights and Anzo Projector Headlights. MORE INFO ON OUR LIGHTING UPGRADES

We needed some heavy duty suspension modifications, wheels, and tires if our Desert Runner Build was going to handle the abuse we had in store for it. So we got ourselves a BDS 4" Lift with powerful Fox 2.5 Coilovers as well as a set of aggressive Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ Tires and 18x9" Method wheels. For our 2015 F150 5.0L Desert Runner to become a true off-road truck, it needs to have the protection and utility to get itself out of tricky situations off road and take a few bumps and bruises along the way. That's why we went ape with the body armor by grabbing ADD off-road bumpers, N-Fab nerf bars, ADD chase rack, and Warn winch so that our 2015 F150 was prepared for just about anything we could imagine. We may call this F150 the "Desert Runner" , but desert was only one of many terrains we attacked with this truck. We've thrashed this F150 off-road all over the great state of Arizona and the truck's taken just about everything we can throw at in stride. We've driven it everywhere from burning deserts, to deep forest snow, to volcanic rock fields, and it barely even broke a sweat.
