If we're being honest the Ranger's factory stance is a little pathetic and certainly not fitting for a 4x4 pickup. Thankfully we already had a plan to bulk up our little offroader by bolting on a BDS 2" leveling kit, Faction Fab 1.5" wheel spacers, 285/70R17 BFGoodrich KO2 tires and some crash bar trimming in our front fenders. The end result is both more capable and better looking so we have no complaints!

BDS 2" Leveling Kit with Rear Shocks
Getting the right stance and a bigger tire on our Ranger build was high priority for us and the best place to start was with the suspension itself. We installed a new BDS 2" Leveling kit up front to bring the truck's nose up and level out the vehicle. The added benefit here is that it provides slightly more clearance up front for a larger tire which we'll talk about more down below. The subtle 2" of lift is achieved through a two-piece design of a top mounted strut spacer and a preload spacer, each made from solid 6061 aluminum. This kit also features Nitro Series rear shocks or the option to upgrade to Fox shocks for the best possible offroad performance. 2019 Ford Ranger BDS 2" Leveling Kit with Shocks

FactionFab 1.50" Forged Aluminum Wheel Spacers
The factory 17" wheels that came on our Ranger are actually a very nice design, but in order to keep those wheels and still get the stance we wanted we needed to add in some 1.50" wheel spacers. FactionFab builds each of these spacers with forged 6061-T6 aluminum that's then machined down for your Ranger's bolt pattern and hub bore to maintain the high yield-to-strength ratio of the aluminum. With these installed behind all four wheels we got our tires to sit just outside the fenders for an aggressive stance that isn't overdone. 2019 Ford Ranger FactionFab 1.50" Forged Aluminum Wheel Spacers
285/70R17 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 Tires
Getting the right tire for your application is massively important and the mild 31" A/T tires on our Ranger were not going to cut it. We up-sized to a new set of 285/70R17 (32.7") BFGoodrich KO2 All Terrains that would give us more rubber on the ground as well as a more aggressive tread pattern and tougher sidewalls for the trail. Now running a tire of this size with only 2" of lift up front did mean that we had to cut our crash bars to get clearance, but with them chopped we were able to completely avoid rubbing both on and offroad.
