Stage 3 Motorsports' 2013 Ford Raptor 6.2L Weekend Warrior Build
We were never going to make the meanest, most insane Raptor build out there. That's already been done a thousand times over and there are plenty of places you can go to see Raptors with cantilever suspensions, dovetailed bedsides, bumpers with approach and departure angles that make military vehicles blush, custom digital camo wraps, and enough lighting to start a mobile tanning salon. Our 2013 6.2L Raptor Weekend Warrior Build is the Raptor for the working man. With 70,000 miles on the odometer, this thing as been around the block and we're going to do just enough upgrades and modifications to add some pep back into its step, and make it an awesome truck for both off-road adventures and the daily grind. To ensure that our Raptor is ready for day-to-day commuting and weekend adventures, we started by adding a couple key accessories. First up was a Pace Edwards tonneau followed by WeatherTech floor mats and bed liner, then we added a DeeZee tailgate assist and some ADD side steps to top it all off. The new found storage space and convenience upgrades make a huge difference whether we're hauling camping gear or groceries! MORE INFO ON OUR ACCESSORIES
If we really wanted our Raptor to be a true Weekend Warrior, then we needed to add some upgrades that let us turn it into a mobile base camp for all of our adventures. To that end, we added some upgrades that helped our Raptor transform into a true overland-ready, off-road machine. We installed an RCI bed rack, Smittybilt Overland Tent, and a Complete Rotopax Package onto our Raptor that all worked together to help us go anywhere in the great outdoors. Our SVT Raptor's chunky 6.2L V8 may not be the most powerful or efficient motor Ford has ever cranked out, it can still be a whole lot of fun. We wanted to help give our truck a nudge in the right direction so we installed an S&B cold air intake, a Pedal Commander throttle response module and a Corsa Sport catback exhaust kit to let that V8 sing. The previous owner of our Raptor outfitted it with a couple cheap LED lights from a land far, far away, and like most cheap LED kits, these ones were plagued with condensation issues and dismal light output. Since Joe eBay's off-brand lighting setup simply wouldn't suffice, we promptly dumped them straight in the trash and stepped up our Ford's lighting game with Baja Designs Squadrons, a pair of LP6's, a 20" S8 light bar and a 40" ONX6 bar just for good measure. This is overkill in every way, but each of these lighting setups has its place and we wanted to try them all! MORE INFO ON OUR LIGHTING UPGRADES
Everyone knows that the Raptor's Fox suspension is one of its best features, but after 70,000 miles the coilovers and shocks left something to be desired. We grabbed a full Fox 3.0 suspension kit with DSC adjusters to replace the tired factory equipment and added a set of Fifteen52 TurboMacHD's wrapped in 35" Mickey Thompson MTZ P3 tires to round everything out! Our Ford Raptor was built to be driven and we've had no qualms about pushing it! Outside of the day-to-day street driving, we've been running this rig through snow, mud, and desert backroads to test every aspect of the truck and we've got the photo and video to prove it.
