Complete Package of Front & Rear Leveling
While the 2019-2022 Ford Ranger is certainly capable of getting through off-road terrain, adding some leveling parts can give you a better ride and prevent damage to your midsize truck's bottom. If you're going to raise the suspension of your front, you might as well get some rear suspension upgrades as well. Our friends at FOX offer a Stage 1 Suspension Package for you to upgrade your Ranger all in one place and all for one price!
3" of Front Suspension for 2019-2022 Ford Ranger
This pair of FOX 2.0 IFP Performance Series Front Coilovers have an adjustable ride height from 0" to 3" of lift, making them an effective leveling system to stay scratch-free on rocky terrain. The coilovers come pre-set at 2" for 4WD trucks and 2.5" for RWD trucks out of the box to reduce rake and add tire clearance without putting your truck too high. FOX designs each of their 2.0 coilovers from the ground up to get you maximum performance, improved response, and much better articulation off road.
Built for Performance and Reliability
Each FOX 2.0 coilover is built around a tough aluminum-body, nitrogen-charged coilover shock that's wrapped with a finely-tuned spring that work together to provide excellent suspension performance off-road. While some leveling kits sacrifice ride quality for suspension, these coilovers work without compromising your truck's smooth street ride. Both the body and mounts are made with 6061-T6 aluminum to maximize heat dissipation without losing strength. The coilovers feature a 5/8" chrome-plated, heat-treated shaft with a high-flow piston design and valving that's tuned for your Ranger. The coilover has an internal reservoir design that keeps the specially formulated oil separate from the nitrogen. The 2.0 coilovers have high-quality, redundant seals that make them extremely reliable under even the most extreme conditions.
Improved Rear Suspension Performance and Articulation
The 2019-2022 Ford Ranger's factory rear shocks could perform better when hitting intense off-road trails and don't always work with front end suspension upgrades. Heavy articulation and long wheel travel push factory shocks beyond their valving and can cause problems. This pair of FOX 2.0 aluminum-body rear shocks will replace your stock rear shocks and make your rear suspension just as ready for the trail as your truck's front leveling. Each of these 2.0 FOX shocks can easily handle an extra 1.5" of lift on your truck's rear and were carefully designed to improve articulation, wheel travel, and heat dissipation which makes them one of the best and least-expensive off-road shocks out there.
Aluminum Shocks with Specialized Piston and Valving
Each shock features a body and mounts that are made from 6061-T6 billet aluminum to dissipate heat much more efficiently than standard steel shock absorbers. This helps keep fade minimal under heavy articulation. The shocks both have a high-flow Internal Floating Piston (IFP) design built inside a chrome-plated and heat-treated steel shaft with specially tuned valving that gives them impressive performance and response. They also have high-quality redundant seals that help improve reliability in aggressive applications and off-road driving. The shock installs directly in place of your stock shock making for simple installation.

2019 Ford Ranger Lariat FX4
I bought these after installing a 3” spacer lift and being completely unsatisfied with it. So, I took it off and installed this Fox kit and couldn’t be happier. The factory FX4 suspension leaves a lot to be desired and if you install a spacer lift it only exacerbates the problem. I highly recommended these coilovers and shocks if you’re trying to level your truck and want a better ride at the same time. Install is a breeze and the ride quality is spectacular. I also installed the Icon UCA’s so there wouldn’t be a problem getting a proper alignment. If you’re on the fence about these, just buy them, you’ll be happy you did.

Money very well spent!!! Was most interested in levelling the truck but was also unhappy with the FX4 ride quality so opted to do a full kit. I wasn’t looking to lift the truck so basically it came down to Fox and Icon. From what I could read the Icon offers a firmer ride than Fox and is likely better suited for higher speed running on rough ground, the typical off roading in this part of the world is oriented towards slower speeds and crawling so I wasn’t looking for high speed crashing & banging. I left the Coilovers as set from factory and got a perfect 2 inch lift on the front for a nice, level stance, more importantly there is a significant and noticeable change in ride. It is now a much smoother yet medium firm ride with zero harshness. Compared to the FX4 setup it is night and day with a very compliant yet supportive ride....highly recommended.

As advertised, very easy install. Gotta be mindful of the sway bar links tho, both of mine popped out when pushing down A-Arms, very easy to pop back in, but very easy to over look if your not paying attention. Kit is high quality and showed up ahead of schedule. Have your laptop or tablet up with the Stage3 install video and take your time, easy install for even the weekend warrior. Gives yeah closer to 2" up front, perfect for a size or two taller tire.

I've owned and modded many cars over my lifetime and this may very well have made the biggest difference of any mod I've ever done. It completely changed the feel and drivability of the truck. The kit was relatively easy to self install, but apparently front end alignments are a pita on the Gen5 Ranger. I am waiting on tires but feel that a 275/70/17 will fit without issues with crash bars.

The front suspension is a big upgrade from the FX4 suspension. Levels the truck and improves handling. Don’t know if the rear really helps a whole lot as I haven’t driven many miles yet. Installation was more difficult than advertised. You need to loosen the center 35mm nut and push the shaft inward to prevent popping the Inner CV joint out of place. Also be careful of popping the sway bar links out of the socket. Both issues are easily resolved, but add a level of difficulty not shown in the videos.

A definite improvement over stock. The ride is much more responsive and smoother. I have not bottomed out the shocks going over speed bumps either haha. The front coilovers added 2" of level which is nice, allowing 265/70/17 AT KO2's. The rear did not add any lift. Exactly what I was looking for.

Fox 2.0 are great. Got them finally installed last week and the ride quality is way better. It feels stiffer and doesn't bounce like before which was like riding a boat. Ordering was super easy through stage 3 and delivery was quick. Really happy with purchase. Order kit a little over 3 wks ago but didn't get them installed until last wk because I had to wait for rims and tires to come in. Wanted to have all installed same day.

Absolutely love this kit. I use my Ranger for daily driving as well as rough fire road mountain bike shuttling. The level kit makes the truck look great. It also makes for better driving on road and off (reduced body roll, brake dive, etc.). Everything you've read in 'the reviews'...I can attest to. In addition, the off-road (fire road) performance is fantastic. It's definitely not 'Raptor' like suspension by any means; however tearing down rough road is much improved. I installed this kit by myself, saving $$$. The install was pretty straight forward. Be sure to borrow the 35mm axle nut socket, so you don't wreck your CVs. With the axles loose and the sway bar detached, the struts pop right in, without a helper even.

2019 Ford Ranger Fx4
These Fox 2.0s are definitely worth the money and live up to the hype. Ride quality and stance are awesome. I installed the coil overs as they came out of the box resulting in ~2" lift in the front with some rake maintained. Truck sits level under load, no squat. Noticed the difference instantly on road and off road performance is night & day. The slight extra clearance was great and the damping response is vastly superior to the stock FX4 shocks. My only problem was on the install - the video from stage3 is OK, but removing the sway bar, brake caliper, brake rotor, and knocking the axle loose from the hub makes the job so much easier. I didn't damage my CV axle like others online, but the passenger side took less than half the time and effort including the time to remove the extras. Also, it is worth buying a pitman arm puller if your truck has some mileage already. The tie-rod end WILL NOT just pop out no matter how hard you hit it. LOL

Will the rear portion of this kit (the fox racing 2.0 front and rear kit) also add height to the back of my truck?
Asked by:
Spencer
- 9/4/2019
The rear shocks alone will not add ride height to your truck. However, they can potentially handle an additional 1.5" of ride height over stock due to their longer travel than stock. The only ways to add ride height to a leaf spring/solid axle truck is with
rear blocks
,
add-a-leaf kits
, shackles, or taller complete leaf packs. Unfortunately, we're still waiting on individual shackles and complete leaf packs to land, but hopefully we'll see some soon.

Looking to improve the ride and level my 2019 Ford Ranger as the front sits lower than the rear. Looking for a smoother street ride and a bit better handling. Thanks,
Asked by:
Bob
- 11/26/2019
The Fox 2.0s will improve handling, though they are smidge stiffer than stock on the road. If you want a smooth street ride, you should probably go with Eibach's Pro-Truck dampers and possibly their springs, depending on your budget.

Looking to buy a 2019 Ranger w/FX4 package later this year. A 2 inch leveling kit would be my first modification. If I understand correctly, these coil overs can be adjusted for a 2” lift to accommodate a slightly taller tire and a level stance?
Asked by:
Jax
- 9/15/2019
These coilovers can be adjusted to 2" of leveling. According to Fox, the coilovers come preset at 3" of leveling out of the box, so you would have to actually adjust the preload collar lower to be at 2" of front leveling. Adjustment does require compressing the coil spring, which is something to keep in mind.

Yep. This kit will bolt on to an RWD/2WD Ranger without issues. However, you may get slightly more ride height out of the front coilovers than what they're rated for on a 4WD truck, which could be a good or bad thing depending on what you're doing.

2019 Ford Ranger 4WD FOX Stage 1 Suspension Package, 2019 Ford Ranger ReadyLift 2.0" Front Strut Extension Leveling Kit - I am planning to buy these for my Ranger 2019 4x4 Bi-turbo diesel, will these fits on Ranger 4x4 2019 diesel that are currently built outside the US?

According to Fox, their coilovers and shocks will bolt up to the overseas diesel-powered Rangers. However, you will likely not get quite the ride height out of the coilovers for what they're rated for on the USDM EcoBoost trucks due to the diesel's heavier curb weight and the fact that all ride height is essentially gained through spring preload.

what is the largest tire you can fit with the 2" lift?
Asked by:
Eric Houck
- 5/29/2020
That depends entirely on what wheel you're using, specifically its width, backspacing and offsets. If you're using the stock wheels, you'll be limited to a 275 wide tire due to knuckle clearances. You should clear a 275/70R17, if you're sticking with an A/T or H/T tire. If you're going with an M/T or Hybrid, you'll probably want to go smaller, since their lugs can stick out quite a bit farther than what the section width indicates.

I have a 2019 Ranger Lariat 4WD FX4 Offroad. For improved appearance, I would like to reduce or eliminate the current factory front rake by leveling the front end. I have no intention of any off road use. A less bouncy ride would also be a benefit I would appreciate. I currently have 30mm wheel spacer/adaptors installed with the stock wheels and tires. I have no plans to change ffrom the stock wheels and tires. What kit do you recommend ? Will the 30mm wheel spacers impact the kit installation ?
Asked by:
rpeterson53
- 12/7/2019
If you're really not looking for tire clearance and you're not going to go off-road at all, then the Fox 2.0 system is probably overkill for you. This kit will do everything you want, but so will
Eibach's struts
and
shocks
at a lower price. The only potential benefit of the Fox kit over the Eibachs for your application, is that the Fox 2.0 coilovers are fully adjustable, allowing you to more finely dial in your ride height versus the Eibach system's various perch settings. Neither kit will be effected by wheel spacers. Your best bet would be to call us directly at 623-434-5277 to put a complete package together for you.

Not necessarily. A set of UCAs will help with travel and spring clearance, but if you're not using your truck off-road you likely would not strictly require a UCA. Still, a UCA is probably a good idea if you're both going that high and planning to articulate the suspension.

What is the recommended tire size and wheel spec for this kit at 3". Largest tire without rub issues. Thanks
Asked by:
KB

Your maximum tire size is going to depend entirely on what wheel you're running (specifically its width, offset, and backspacing), and your wheel choice is going to depend on what kind of stance or look you want for your truck. If you want to avoid all chances of rubbing and crash bar removal, the biggest you'll likely be able to use is a 275/70R17, but your best bet would be to call us directly at 623-434-5277.

The Fox 2.0 coilovers uses a 550lb-in 3.0 Eibach coil spring that Fox powder coats and slaps a logo onto. As far as I'm aware, the Ford Performance Fox 2.0s and these are identical. Fox can't outright confirm that, and there may be minor differences in styling and hardware, but as far as core design elements, they are the same.

Along with this kit, stock wheels, and Crash bar mod do you think a skinnier tire would help alleviate clearance issues? What about running a 255/80R17 on stock wheels? BFG KM2's come in at 33.1" in this size.
Asked by:

With the coilovers set at full 2" of ride height, you may not have issues with that tire, and may not even have to trim the crash bars. Tire width plays just as much of a role in fitment as height, so it's possible that a 255/80R17 will clear. However, we can't 100% guarantee that since we haven't tried the combination ourselves.

The answer is likely "yes", though that does somewhat depend on what wheels you're using, specifically their widths, backspacing, and offsets. Asked by:
Jfull1785

That somewhat depends on how high you set the kit. In general, at their out-of-the-box ride height, you likely won't run into any premature wear, especially if you're not flogging the truck off-road. If you are going to be off-roading and/or running the kit at a 3" ride height, then you should probably consider an aftermarket UCA.

Is there a need to change UCAs when installing this kit or remove crash bars for larger tire clearance? Looking to go with 285/70/17
Asked by:
Darthfinley
- 8/13/2020
You would not necessarily need to swap out your UCAs, especially if you're leaving the kit at its out of the box 2" to 2.5" of ride height and only using it on the street. If you're going to be using the front coilovers at their max 3" of ride height and/or you're going to be off-roading on a regular basis, then you may want to consider UCAs. As for your tire, many 285 wide tires will not clear the factory knuckle on the stock wheels, and if you use wheel spacers or aftermarket wheels to help your tire to clear the knuckles, then you may end up with crash bar contact which will necessitate trimming, removal, or replacement with high-clearance aftermarket crash bars.

Both the Fox 2.0s and the Eibachs provide much better ride quality and handling on the road. As long as you're not running the Eibachs at their full ride height, they tend to have a smoother street ride than Fox, due to how their preload adjustment works. If you're going to be running at 3" of ride height and want the smoothest possible ride, you'll probably want to go with the
Complete Eibach Package
that comes with Eibach Springs.

I like that these were developed with Ford for the Ranger, but would the Bilstein 5100 struts and shocks be better suited for a daily driver? Would it be overkill to put the Fox 2.0 on my Ranger? Would they outlast the Bilstein struts and Shocks?
Asked by:
Jeff from Denver
- 9/16/2020
Something is only overkill if you're not going to get full use out of it. The Fox 2.0s are a good general-purpose suspension option that stays smooth on the road, but can also handle light to moderate off-road applications without letting you down, though they won't be able to rip through raw desert at 50mph. If you're only going to be off-road occasionally on fairly well-maintained roads, then the Bilsteins are probably a better bang-for-your-buck.

The rear shocks can be used in conjunction with the ReadyLift rear block without issues. Curious what the difference between the fox 2.0 and the fox 2.0 tuned by ford performance is.

According to Ford Performance, they use a lower rate spring on the coilovers and slightly lighter valving than the standard Fox 2.0s to provide a smoother street ride at the expense of some stability and energy absorption. It's tough to say how big of a difference there is between the two out there in the real world.

There are some minor differences between the Fox Stage 1 Kit, Ford Performance Fox Kit, and the Roush Fox Kit, but really, if you're not going to be off-road on the regular, then the Eibach system may be up your alley. If you are towing, you may also want to use a lower ride height than their maximum so that you don't get a ton of rear squat, or look into some sort of rear lift or load-support parts.

A lot of that will depend on what specific wheels you have. If you're running stock wheels, your best bet would be a 275/65R18 if you want to avoid cutting and trimming of your crash bars or valance. Wheel spacers will likely only hurt you, since the backspacing they provide push the apex of the tire out to where the wheel wells and crash bars curve back in.

Curious about any possible adverse effects for towing. Sounds like the rear shocks are a tad softer than my stock FX4s... is that correct? Do you think this would change the max towing capability at all? Thanks!
Asked by:
Matt
- 3/10/2021
This package does not change your Ranger's factory tow ratings, and it's rated payload capacity, GVWR, and GCWR are unchanged. If anything, the rear shocks should help with towing stability, since they're true monotubes and stay cooler than stock. The only towing-related issue that you'll run into is that the increased front ride height from the front coilovers could cause you to be nose-high if you're loaded pretty heavy, and you may find that you'll need some sort of rear lift or load support to stay level when loaded down.

Thinking about purchasing black rhino armory rims with this kit. Rims will be 17” x 9 1/2”. What tire size do you recommend. Thanks
Asked by:
Daniel
- 3/15/2021
Tire fitment will depend on what specific offset you're looking at, since the Armory wheels are available in a +6mm and a -18mm guise, as well as whether you're willing to trim or remove the crash bars. If you want to avoid all chances of rubbing and removing your crash bars, you should be fine with a 275/70R17 on the +6mm Armory wheels. If you don't mind removing your crash bars or trimming your valance, you could run a 285/70R17.

Will these shocks fit the 2021 Ford Ranger diesel?
Asked by:
Vincent
- 4/6/2021
The coilovers and shocks will bolt up to a 2021 Ford Ranger with a diesel drivetrain. However, you will get slightly less ride height out of the front coilovers, since the overseas diesel trucks do have a higher curb weight than the USDM EcoBoost Rangers.

IS there an option to get shock boots to protect the shock shafts on the rear shocks ?
Asked by:
Norm
- 4/19/2021
Just about any generic shock boot will work with the Fox 2.0s. However, Fox also offers their own
2.0 Roost Shields
if you wanted to go that route.

I have a 2020 Ranger FX4. Will these Fox 2.0 shocks increased ride height over regular FX4? I'm not looking for more ride height, just a better quality ride on and off road, and keeping the same MPG rating.
Asked by:
Ross
- 5/13/2021
The Fox 2.0s are rated to add up to 3" of ride height. The FX4s only tend to be about an inch taller than other Ranger submodels, so you will gain some ride height out of the box. The 2.0s are adjustable, so you can lower their ride heights, if need be.

Will this setup fit for 2021 ford ranger Wildtrack 2.0 biturbo 4wd trucks?
Asked by:
Onat Kasapoglu
- 6/14/2021
It's our understanding that this kit will bolt up to overseas 2021 Ranger WildTraks. However, you won't get quite the ride height out of the front coilovers, since the Bi-Turbo Diesel models have a heavier curb weight.

Do you recommend upgrading the upper control arms when installing the 2019-2021 Ford Ranger FOX 2.0 Stage 1 Suspension Package RNGRSTGE14WD? If so, can you suggest a part number?
Asked by:
TimM
- 6/22/2021
You wouldn't necessarily have to, especially if you're keeping the Fox 2.0 front coilovers at their out-of-the-box ride height and using it predominantly on the street or well-maintained forest roads. If you are going to take up the ride height and/or use your truck decently hard off-road, then we definitely recommend a set of aftermarket UCAs. We currently recommend
Grimm OffRoad's Uniball UCA
for a bang-for-your-buck option, and the
ICON Delta Joints
as a top-tier option.

What is the biggest size tire I can put on my truck with this kit without doing too much cutting of the fenders or anything like that. Looking at 32" or possibly 33"
Asked by:
Jake
- 7/12/2021
That depends entirely on what wheel you're using, specifically its width, offset, and backspacing. If you're using the stock wheels, you can probably get on a LT275/70R17 without rubbing.

This set doesn't appear to be adjustable - am I missing something?
Asked by:
TJ
- 7/29/2021
These coilovers do have adjustable ride height, though it is kind of a pain to do. To adjust ride height on the Fox 2.0s, you need to compress the coilover's spring, loosen the lower perch/adjustment collar's retaining screw, and then turn the lower collar by hand to your desired ride height setting.

What’s the difference between this kit and the “roush version”

Not a lot. The only major difference is that Roush kit comes standard with Fox's Roost Shields for the rear shocks.
The Roost Shields are available separately here

I have A 2019 Ranger XLT crew cab with stock wheel & tire 265/60R18. I am thinking to get FOX 2.0 Stage 1 Suspension package for a better off-roading experience. Does the kit fit the stock wheel & tire well after install it?
Asked by:
Sam

Yep. The Fox coilovers and shocks will fit just fine with factory 265/60R18 tires.

I have a 2019 ranger xlt sport, I've been running a deck system with no suspension issues, I just added an ARE cap and now I feel they truck suspension is now to bouncy and has way more body roll. I'd like to add the FOX 2.0 stage 1 system, but I really don't need to level the truck, I'm running stock tires and drive 99.8% of the time on the road. If I don't raise the front of the truck (leave it stock height ) will I still get any benefit for the fox system? Or is there a better system for my situation? Thanks,
Asked by:

- 10/23/2021
You can set the Fox 2.0 front coilovers for a factory ride height, though adjusting them down is kind of a pain and requires either a wall-mount or floor-mount spring compressor. You'd still get a handling and off-road performance benefit out of them. That being said, your issue seems to be weight more than anything else, and you may want to consider some sort of load support upgrade as well. Give us a call directly at 623-434-5277 or email us at

My 21 Range is one that had mid year design change. I have cast steel knuckles. Lots of lit kits say they are not compatible. Is this one.
Asked by:
Rob Cornelius
- 11/4/2021
Full lift kits with crossmembers and new knuckles have issues, as well as a lot of aftermarket UCAs with the cast steel knuckles. However, less extensive leveling kits and coilovers do not have issues, and the Fox Stage 1 Kit will fit your truck just fine, regardless of knuckle type.

Two questions: I've scanned the Q&A answers and one said this kit is set to 3" of rise in the front, and another answer said 2". I know they're adjustable but which is it? Secondly, Ford states specifically not to reuse the nuts from the factory suspension, but to use new ones if installing replacements. Does this kit include new nuts (for the hub, etc)?
Asked by:
Dave
- 3/3/2022
The coilovers are capable of going up to 3" of ride height. However, out of the box, they're preset at around 2" of ride height. Fox does not include new tie rod, axle, or UCA nuts. In general, as long as you're careful to not damage the nylock nuts, they can be reused.

This package didn’t come with the tool to adjust the amount of lift on the coil overs. Why not and where do I get one? Also when you screw the bolts in through the bottom of the coil overs they aren’t long enough for a nut to fit on it. Isn’t that unsafe?
Asked by:
Clint
- 3/7/2022
These coilovers do not require a tool or spanner wrench for adjusting ride height. To adjust ride height, you'll need to compress the spring, loosen the set screw on the lower collar, and then turn the collar by hand to the desired ride height. The coilovers absolutely need to be bolted on properly to the LCA with the nuts. If you're having issues with your install, please call us directly at 623-434-5277 or email us at

My ‘21 XLT only has 2k miles on it but the tie rod won’t budge from the upright after removing the nut. I gave it a couple knocks with the hammer, similar to the install video, but that didn’t seem to do anything. Any ideas?
Asked by:
Kyle
- 3/26/2022
It can take several hard hits to get the tie rod out. Our install looks a lot easier than typical, due to the truck having very low Arizona mileage on it.

Will these fit the Ranger Global version? Or just the North American version of the truck?
Asked by:
Juan Jose
- 6/1/2022
Global Rangers can be miss, due to the fact that some overseas Rangers (especially South American Rangers) use a different style of mount on the lower control arm. You would need to confirm whether the coilover LCA mount on your Ranger uses a bar-pin or a standard clevis. If it's a bar-pin mount, this package will work on your truck.
