2018 F250 Platinum

Ive had this kit installed on my truck for 6 months now. There was a noticable improvement in throttle response and fuel mileage. And it looks stock, good purchase.

Overall was not hard to install just took a little while because of the location for intake. Sounds great and very happy I made this purchase. We pull a large toy hauler and this was the trick for better air flow and better on the motor and better gas mileage.

2019 F350 Dually

Install is not hard, but is time consuming as others have mentioned. No other performance modifications and throttle response is noticeably better. Before install truck averaged 14 miles to gallon without a load. 2,000 miles after install with same driving conditions averaging 14.8.

2019 F250 6.7PS

I found the installation to be easy with simple tools. In total, it took about 2 hours. After the installation, there is a more noticeable number of sounds that can be heard (mainly from the turbo). However, it's good sounds. Fit and finish is very nice and it complements the engine bay. No noticeable mileage increase to report at this time.

2017 Ford F-350 6.7

Fast shipping will definitely buy from this stage 3 in the future. As for the air intake, took longer to install than expected. But of course when you have to search for dropped nuts and bolts multiple times, it would be expected. Nice product, well made, no check engine lights, not sure about highway MPG, in town I have gained 1 mile per gallon.

For something that was shown to be a more involved install it really was not hard. Directions were very easy to read and everything came together great! I’ve heard great things about these intakes and i have to agree. It is a great upgrade for the truck and great design. Chris in sales was able to take care of me answering all my questions and kept me updated on my shipment. Great service!

3 hour install but worth every second. The instructions were clear and the pictures helped a lot. I used the stage 3 install video for clarification a couple times and it helped tremendously. The truck sounds great now and time will tell if I get more MPGs. Very pleased with the S&B cai.

2018 F-250

Buyer be aware when ordering this product for the 2018 F-250 make sure they send you the update version of the battery box. The old version will not fit because of the grounding cables for the battery. I had to call S&B and they send a new battery box over night. Plus enclosed in the packaging are 4 bolts 3 will work and the other one I has to be longer for the new style box. I went to Ace Hardware to buy another bolt which needs to be longer. I like the cold air intake but gave it 3 stars for all the issues I had!

Kit is fairly involved to install however the intake is very well designed and encountered no issues. Instructions are spot on. I left the plugs in as my truck is mostly stock and it now is a bit louder at the intake. Has helped throttle response. Not sure if it will help mileage over the long term. Very happy with the intake.

Overall awesome product. The material the for the intake tube is made out of regular plastic which I thought was kind of surprising, but seems to be quality enough. The install was also pretty straight forward although moving the battery was a pain, but manageable. The extra HP and the aggressive sound increase (not over the top though) was well work the install and I would definitely recommend this product

Can’t say enough good about the cold air intake I pull my camper and got 10 mpg with intake 15.8 mpg pulled a car hauler and car and got 18 mpg plus sounds good and gave me a noticeable power increase everyday driving I got 11mpg after I’m getting 18.9 my truck has 35’s and 4” lift would recommend

2017 Ford F-250 King Ranch

I installed this about a month ago and I have to say I am really happy with it. The install was fairly easy following the instructions. I didn’t really see a fuel mileage increase but I did notice a substantial power increase. All in all, I think it’s a great product, S&B really did think of everything when they put this kit together. In addition, John with stage 3 was super helpful, I can’t say enough about the outstanding customer service he provided and they’re fast shipping! I’ve already ordered other products from them and will continue to do so.

Which filter is better, Dry expandable or oiled? Is there a noticeable difference between the two?

Performance and airflow-wise, there's not a difference between the two. The real choice depends on whether you want to save money in the long run by using the reusable oiled filter, or whether you want to avoid the hassle of cleaning and reoiling by using the dry disposable filters.

S&B has not yet released install instructions for this kit, though the vast majority of their systems are drop-in replacement kits that don't require tuning.

I just installed on my 2017 f250 diesel and I am actually losing a mile per gallon. Was something done wrong on the install?

It's possible that you could have an air leak somewhere, so you should probably check your couplers and hardware to make sure. It's more likely that your PCM/ECU hasn't fully adjusted to the intake and is reading low. You can either give it around 500 miles to complete a drive cycle or perform a KAM reset so that your PCM "relearns" its settings and your driving style.

Does it give better mpg?

Alone, this intake won't provide a huge increase in fuel economy. You'd likely see maybe an extra .5mpg to 1mpg more than what you're currently seeing.
