The Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) System on the 2018-2019 F150 2.7L EcoBoosts has a few changes from the earlier model years, which meant our friends over at UPR Products had to go back to the drawing board and come with a unique catch can solution that eliminated the chances of a CEL from the PCV pressure sensor while at the same time remaining highly efficient in order to capture as much PCV blow-by as possible to help eliminate intercooler condensation issues and reduce the chances of valve coking. The sum of all their efforts is this UPR Dual-Valve Catch Can System that includes a patent-pending Electronic Clean Side Separator that prevents a check engine light. The kit is built around a UPR Dual-Valve catch can, but also includes an entirely separate clean side can that piggy-back mounts onto the main can which increases both efficiency and overall holding volume. This kit allows you to go longer between emptying, and includes a new VPS line with a sensor which maintains the stock PCV functionality so your truck doesn't throw a code or CEL.

High-Quality Aluminum Cans with Braided Lines and Plug-and-Play Fittings

The UPR Dual-Valve Catch Can System with Clean Side Can features the high-quality construction and kit components that you know and love from UPR, all of which easily drops into your 2018-2019 F150 2.7L EcoBoost in a straightforward installation. Both the main Dual-Valve Can and the Clean Side Catch Can are CNC machined out of aircraft-grade T-6 6061 billet aluminum that gives them excellent strength and corrosion resistance. The cans are topped off with an aggressive black color that lets them blend in with your engine bay for a clean, near-OEM look. The catch can system comes standard with pre-cut, high-quality, Goodyear braided hoses topped off with black ferrules and plug-and-play PCV fittings that provide a great look and simple, drop-in installation. The main can comes complete with a mounting bracket that installs onto your 2018-2019 F150's upper radiator support and faces the can inside of your engine bay. Each system comes with a full set of installation hardware and instructions for mounting the cans and routing the hosing. Some drilling is required for installation.

CEL Note: UPR designed this can so that it does not throw a P04DB trouble code for your F150's VPS sensor. However, even with UPR's updated can design, some F150s may still throw a code, and UPR cannot guarantee with any certainty that their can won't trip a P04DB code. Only a custom tune can permanently disable the VPS sensor and eliminate the P04DB CEL.

1). In general, a basic bolt-on like a catch can won't have an effect on your truck's overall powertrain or bumper-to-bumper warranties. However, all warranty decisions are up to individual dealerships, and your best bet would be to talk to your service center directly. 2). The amount of fluid caught by the can can vary immensely depending on climate, driving style, and variations in PCV system operation. Here in Arizona, for instance, we usually only capture actual oil with very little atmospheric moisture, and very rarely have to empty our cans. Trucks in places with more humidity or more mild climates in general will capture both oil and atmospheric moisture and will require emptying the can more often. 3). We generally recommend a catch can system of sort for long-term longevity.

I have read about the advantages of the catch can and the install looks pretty straight forward. However, I dont see any info on the listed options. Is the satin or black just a color choice for the can? What are the advantages of the billet check valves and the PCV delete?

Satin and Black are the colors for the can. The can comes with check valves, the Pro Billets are just higher quality (though aren't a required upgrade). The PCV Delete deletes the PCV inlet port on your truck's intake manifold which further helps prevent long-term valve coking issues.

I have a 2016 Ford Edge Sport with the 2.7 ecoboost and was wondering if this system would work with my engine configuration. If not is someone working on a catch can system for the Edge sport? thanks

This catch can kit will not have out-of-the-box fitment into a Ford Edge 2.7L EcoBoost, mostly due to the fact that your Edge's 2.7L is transverse mounted, while the F150s are longitudinally mounted, as well as general engine bay differences in design and layout. I don't currently have word on an Edge-specific catch can system.

Do you have the option available to add the pre-drilled UPR turbo inlet pipe so that the original does not have to be drilled? UPR has it as an option and mentions it in their install video.

Unfortunately, UPR does not offer a pre-drilled WOT pipe for the 2.7L EcoBoost trucks, only for the 3.5L EcoBoosts at this time.

I purchased a catch can from you guys last year and am happy with it. Mine came with a nickel drain cock extension like the one in the picture on this page. It is threaded on the inside and I would like to attached a hose to it for easier draining. It's hard to get a bottle or something under it at times. Do you have one that fits in this setup? Thanks, Jeff

Unfortunately, we do not have a line kit for UPR's catch cans. Your best bet would be to use universal silicone line that runs to a more convenient location.

i,have seen other catch can symptoms from other vendors, why do they only offer the passenger side hook up? There are two banks to v6 .what about the bank on driver's side? I don't want to have problems with my 2017 2.7 i would like to have my truck around for a while. They are expensive. Any help to cut down on problems is appreciated

The passenger's side head is responsible for most of the PCV blow-by in the EcoBoost trucks, while the driver's side generates fairly little. However, capturing both does help prevent intercooler pooling and valve coking more effectively than more basic cans.
