What will BBK's 73mm Ecoboost Throttle Body Actually do for me?

Unlike a lot of the cold air intakes out there on the market, BBK's throttle body actually provides pretty excellent gains in horsepower and torque, especially when paired with aFe's Bladerunner charge pipe. With just those two basic upgrades, we saw an increase of 14 horsepower and 6 lb-ft of torque while using an Edge 91-Octane Race Tune. While custom tuned results may be different, BBK's throttle body can provide a little bit extra juice to your F150 EcoBoost's power ratings. Check out our before and after dyno graphs below:

Now, there is one drawback to the BBK throttle body that doesn't make it perfect for everyone. Even though it adds peak horsepower and torque, its does way up in the RPM range and cause the power band to smooth out to a very large degree. While custom tuning can mitigate the effect to a certain extent, a loss of low-end power in exchange for high-end isn't all that great for towing, pulling, or some other applications. Regardless, the BBK throttle body makes for a good upgrade if you're looking for outright power gains, especially if you're doing a full-on bolt-on build with extremely aggressive custom tuning, downpipes, intercooler, turbo upgrades, and potentially other upgrades.
