Add A Blacked-Out, Industrial Look To Your Super Duty

The exterior modifications you choose can make or break your custom 2011-2016 6.7L Super Duty build and there are a ton of options on the market. For us here at Stage 3 Motorsports, we always believe in the idea of keeping it simple when it comes to mixing colors and trims. That's why we're big fans of Smittybilt's new 2011-2016 F250/F350 Smittybilt M1 Black Wire Mesh Grille. With this industrial-looking black mesh grille you can easily add to an aggressive blacked-out look without too many hassles. We're going for a black-on-white color scheme for our "Project Ice Box" 2014 F250 6.7L Lariat Crew Cab and the M1 Wire Mesh Grille ended up being the perfect solution for our front-end styling.

Whatever configuration you decide is right for your off-road Super Duty build, it's very important to understand the installation process so you have the right expectations. Pictured in our 2014 6.7L F250 Super Duty build is the awesome Smittybilt Black M1 Wire Mesh Grille which we selected to match the look we're going for. The black M1 mesh grille itself only replaces your OEM center grille section, but does not include the chrome surrounds. In fact, you'll be hard-pressed to find an aftermarket grille insert that replaces both the inner grille and the chrome surround. Fortunately, we've already done the work and have a solution for you to achieve a similar look for your own custom Super Duty build. Start by checking out our step-by-step video below:

If you want to retain the OEM chrome surround because it matches the look you're going for, installing the center grille is a very easy installation. However, if like us, you're trying to delete all the factory chrome then you'll need to pick up a Ford OEM grille (unfortunately, we do not offer them at this time) that is made for the base model Super Duty work trucks which come standard with a black ABS surround that can be painted to match your color scheme. We picked up a Ford OEM work truck grille and surround off Ebay for around $230 and, after cutting out the center section and test-fitting our new Smittybilt Grille, sent off the surround to be painted Oxford White to match our Super Duty's paint job, costing us $150. Altogether with the cost of picking up the Ford OEM work truck grille and having to send it off for painting, it cost us just under $400 to achieve the look we wanted when all was said and done. While it cost us a little extra to get the job done, it was well worth it in the end.

Hyper Aggressive LED Light Bar Grille Systems

Grabbing an awesome aftermarket Super Duty front grille is all well and good, but why stop there? Why not get a perfect way to mount extremely powerful LED light bars to give your truck the night time visibility it needs for those late days out on the trail. LED Light Bar grilles from Rigid Industries and T-Rex provide your hyper-tough F250 or F350 Super Duty with an even more badass look all while giving you the ability to turn night into day when you head off road. The Rigid Industries LED Upper Grille reuses your stock grille shell, requiring you to cut out the stock honeycomb and styling bars. The Rigid Grille can fit one 30" E-Series LED Light Bar, which is sold separately. The T-Rex X-Metal Torch Series Upper Grille comes with T-Rex's own LED light bar and all its necessary wiring. Just like Rigid's grille, the Torch Series requires some cutting for installation, but gives your truck one of the most awesome looks that you can find.
