Complete Brake Kits are Usually Your Best Bet

While swapping out either your brake pads or your rotors with some performance hardware is good, doing both at the same time is usually a better deal, if not just for the price and performance, at least for the convenience of not needing to pull your truck's brakes apart twice. When our own 2012 F150 5.0L FX4's rotors where getting down to sad, pale shadows of their former selves, we opted to grab ourselves a complete Power Stop Brake kit consisting of both rotors and brake pads, and it was a pretty good thing we did. Even though our brake pads didn't look too shabby looking through the calipers, all four corners had at least one pad that was cracked all the way through the friction material.

Even if our pads were in good shape, needing to pull everything back apart in six months to throw on a new set isn't exactly our cup of tea. Not to mention, the performance benefit we got with the new rotors and ceramic pads from Power Stop were well worth it. The rotor and pad combination gave our project truck a nice boost in braking, especially given how bad our front rotors were worn. The ceramic Z16 pads are also extremely quiet and we barely even notice them during everyday street driving. Overall, Power Stop doesn't leave much to complain about, and we definitely recommend this kit for just about anyone who needs a boost in braking performance and replacements for all their factory wearable brake hardware all in once place.
