A BBK Performance Power-Plus Throttle Body is a must-have for anyone looking for some bolt-on performance for their aggressive F150 2.7L EcoBoost build. BBK's throttle body is one of the best in the business and has found its way onto some of the toughest machines on the street, track, or trail. This version of BBK's Power Plus Throttle Body measures 65mm in diameter, which allows a much larger volume of charge air to enter your intake manifold to help it produce much more horsepower and torque over stock. The much larger diameter also provides greatly improved throttle response to help get your EcoBoost F150 off the line quicker and meaner. The BBK throttle body is extremely easy to install and bolts on right in place of your F150's stock throttle body with no cutting, drilling or other modifications.

CNC Machined from Cast Aluminum with OE-Style Actuator

BBK's 65mm throttle body has a larger diameter than your factory unit and features excellent build quality, extreme durability, and perfect fitment in mind. Engineered right here in the USA, BBK's throttle bodies are CNC machined from 356 aluminum castings and are fitted with an O-ringed throttle shaft, double-sealed bearings, and die-stamped throttle linkages. The throttle body features an OE-style actuator and comes standard with a provision for your F150's throttle position sensor that allows it to easily drop into place of your stock throttle body for a quick and easy installation with common hand tools. BBK's kit comes with installation hardware and instructions to make getting this powerful upgrade onto your truck an absolute breeze.

2016 2.7 F-150

Installation of this wasn't bad at all, roughly 30 minutes. The installation video stage 3 has is extremely helpful. Comparing the stock throttle body to the BBK, appearance-wise the differences are minimal. I was actually surprised how similar the products looked with the exception of BBK's throttle body being more polished. After installing I was impressed by the significant improvement in throttle response.

2015 f 150 2.7l ecoboost

The only reason I looked at an aftermarket throttle body is the truck has been down on power without a check engine light for a year. I had been looking for the problem through a scan tool and the only thing that showed up was throttle command to throttle position was way off. The final straw to do something was 70mph down the highway the truck downshifted to 5 th gear without anything in it. The throttle body went on without a problem- Broken fitting on the intake tube put me back a few days for a new tube- be very careful on that. The truck startup afterwards was fine, followed instructions before getting on the road. Bad reaction when getting on the road- 6,000 to 7,000 rpm before shifts and engine down on power. Got the truck back home and did a battery disconnect and capacitor power drain down process that a Ford tec had posted on line to reset many learned data. After that the truck behaved much better. Much more power and has been that way for several weeks so it isnt a fluke. I think there was something definitely wrong with the oem throttle body that this one fixed%. The truck doesnt downshift on a hill by the house anymore. Also a couple weeks later replaced spark plugs- found one with cracked insulator. So what brought my truck back to power was- throttle body helped 80%, air filter helped 10% and spark plugs helped 10%. Keep in mind this truck just passed 24,000 miles. Somewhat ridiculus to be changing 100,000 mi spark plugs on an untuned truck. Overall happy with the bringing power back results.

What are the average horsepower and torque gains made from the upgraded 65mm throttle body? Thanks!

According to BBK, alone, the throttle body is good for 8-12 peak horsepower. You can see more less than that depending on your other modifications, tuning, octane, and ambient conditions.

Will this void any powertrain factory warranties?

In general, basic bolt-on performance parts like the BBK won't have an effect on your warranty given a proper install. However, all warranty decisions are up to individual service departments, and your best bet would be to talk to your service advisor about what kind of leeway they give.

This throttle body will not work on a 2018 F150 2.7L due to changes Ford made in the electronics. A version for 2018 F150s is currently in development.

Unfortunately, it will not. BBK does not currently have a throttle body for the 2018-2020 F150 2.7L EcoBoosts.

Fuel economy gains with a throttle body alone are pretty marginal. If you're driving conservatively, you may see .5 mpg to maybe a full mpg. Your better bet to win back fuel economy would be custom tuning.

Does it improve fuel economy, especially when towing?

It can as long as you're actually trying to get good fuel economy and you're keeping your foot fairly light on the throttle, it can. However, due to the increase in throttle response, a lot of folks find their feet get heavy. If you really want to have an overall improvement in fuel economy, you should look at custom tuning.
