2013 Ford F150

Had professionally installed along w/Volant CAI, dry, at same time. Seems to be doing great. No whistle like some report, think thats more for spacers. Feel a little more power with cai and TB. Over priced for sure, if I could do again would have just done CAI and held out on this to check dyno for this price, imo. Giving 4 stars cuz price too much, but other than that I like it

2013 F-150

Easy to install. Works great with the cold air induction and SCT tuner. The only downside is the cost, but worth it in the long run.

Very easy installation and a nice quality product. Bolted right up to Boss intake manifold and JLT cai with no problems. Slightly better difference in throttle response over stock.

2014 F150 STX 5.0

BBK is synonymous with Quality. My interest in this unit was to hope for a better/quicker response from the throttle plate. The unit did deliver. The install time is 30 minutes. My application is for everyday driving - No racing. I did notice a difference with everyday stopsign and stoplight response on acceleration. The cost of the unit is subjective. I give it a 5-Star for it's looks, plug&play and the added increase from the Stock diameter.

2013 F150 FX4 SCREW 5.0 Coyote

BBK 85mm Power-Plus Throttle Body install time was around 20 min. Combined with a K&N CAI ,PERFORMANCE TUNED and the Roush cat back exhaust improved the over all performance of the 5.0 coyote throttle response and HP gains . The BBK 85mm Power-Plus Throttle Body price plus rebate was a bargain buy at just under $300.00. Well worth the purchase .

Really pleased with this. Installation was super easy. Definitely notice a difference in throttle response especially low down. Great fit with my K&N CAI too.

11 F 150 Platinum

Easy swap upgrade from the OEM throttle body. This BBK 85mm will let you know it’s there as soon as you turn the key. Exhaust rumbles a little more, letting you know there is some extra torque now. The upgrade in sound and power hit more at the mid to higher RPMs. With the upgraded air flow I’ve noticed better MPGs, and throttle response, very happy with this. #S&B cold air intake #BBK 85mm throttle body #MBRP 3” cat-back #SCT LIVEWIRE TS+

Acceleration now feels almost effortless, from a stop and also at highway speeds. Very impressed with how much of a difference it's made.

2012 F-150 XLT 5.0 V8

I was torn between the BBK and the Grams, but went with the BBK since it seemed to be a fairly popular TB for the F150 302. I installed the BBK 85mm for temporary use with my OEM air intake. I'm waiting on an ram air snorkel for my Volant CAI kit, before installing it and finalizing my tunes from 5*. As for the installation, it is very simple and straight forward. I took off just the TB end of the factory air tube and unscrewed the four bolts, and unplugged the throttle sensor. The TB came right off. Installation was in reverse order, using the supplied bolts. I was curious that the Ford OEM bolts included flat washers, but the BBK bolts did not. I tried to remove the washers from the factory bolts, but they would not come off. The S3M video shows the BBK bolts going in without flat washers, so I compromised. I used split washers on the upper and lower bolts on the right side of the TB, because I could not find a flat washer that would fit. (I tried 10mm but they were too small and the hardware store did not have 12mm size.) I did not use any washers on the left side, because the washers would not fit/seat within the round milled profile of the cast body at the bolt opening. It simply was not large enough to allow a washer to fit there. You can see about what I am talking in the attached photos.

We know for certain that the aFe Stage 2 kit, Airaid cold air intake kits, and Volant kits all fit just fine. Honestly, at the very worst you'd have to purchase a larger coupler for the throttle body, but most of the couplers included in our cold air intake kits for the 5.0L have enough elasticity to fit over BBK's throttle body.

What, if any, is the difference in power gained between the BBK 85mm and 90mm Power-Plus Throttle Bodies? Is it substantial enough to justify upsizing from the 85mm to the 90mm throttle body?
